The Residence Life Coordinator is a live-in professional position that is a vital member of the Student Life & Residence Life staff. This position assists in the day to day operations of the residence halls and serves as the secondary on-call supervisor. The Coordinator is responsible for various aspects of the Residence Life programming and housing operations, including but not limited to contracts, billing, and cultivating relationships with residents and other on campus departments. This position will co-supervise residence assistants and office staff and provide support services to administrative personnel, students, families and guests. This position will manage the OC Intramural Sports program and serve as a Title IX investigator. The candidate will possess organization skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple tasks. The candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment that requires flexibility and initiative to meet the needs of the students and the college. Confidentiality, discretion and diplomacy is expected and required.
Specific Position Duties
Assist the Director of Residence Life with administrative tasks including but not limited to: general office management, clerical duties, email and phone communication, billing (for students and guests), maintaining purchase order requests, invoice tracking, submitting and monitoring maintenance requests for housing facilities, key control, student travel, record keeping, facility reservations;
Create and implement residence life programming and events.
Plan, coordinate and execute intramural event and activity marketing, schedules and games.
Investigate and assist with Title IX and/ or residence life conduct cases as they arise.
Assist in resident assistant and office worker supervision, recruitment, training, scheduling and payroll
Create and maintain accurate records of housing files to track student information for the duration of their residency;
Assist in resident placement, assignments, and pairing;
Participates in the organizing and performance of health and safety checks as needed;
Resolve resident issues when necessary (i.e. lockouts, maintenance requests, billing errors);
Assist with resident check-in/check-out and move-in/ move-out;
Prepare specific reports at the request of the supervisor(s);
Maintain confidential office files, records, materials, and appropriate budgets for department;
Maintain courteous and dependable customer service contact with students, other departments/personnel, and prospective families;
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and during opening/closing of the halls;
Assist with development of departmental procedures related to student housing;
Serve as administrative support for the department and Executive Director of Student Life, as needed; and perform other duties as assigned.
Some travel may be involved (training, advising student organizations, intramural competitions, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience; Experience working in a college/university or school setting; Highly developed skills in written and verbal communication, organization, personal responsibility and enthusiasm;
Basic knowledge of computers and software packages; and
ability and willingness to adapt to a flexible work schedule

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree; Previous experience working in a college/university housing/ or residence life environment preferred;
Work Hours
Normal business hours; However, nature of the position will require some evening and weekend hours, especially during peak seasons at the beginning and end of the semesters.Posting Number
